baseball nights

kids are out of school and grant has had several ball games the last few nights. my mom is in town helping out-so i was able to take some pictures of the action.

he tagged the base-got the runner out and almost made a double play at first-

there are now a little group of other girls who come to the games-they run around the ball park playing hide and seek and asking for snacks at the concession stand. one of the older sisters bought them lollipops-their excitement was another example of simple pleasures being the best kind of fun:)
grant had several great hits that were caught in the outfield-but this one was a double!

this was not ben's first game-but it has been too hard to juggle baby, camera and 3 kids-so thanks to our life-saver nana we finally have a picture of him at the ball park.

emily as "the troll"

emily has been very excited about this play for a month or two. we have practiced her lines at home, but we weren't prepared for this. bobby thinks maybe she has a future in theatre :) watch it here

big stuff

i'm finding it harder to get pictures of ben than i imagined. most of the time i want to take a picture he is in my arms and the camera is buried in my backpack in the other room.

anneliese is a great big sister-although i feel i'm failing to give her the attention she needs. she is currently questioning me about how abraham lincoln died. how did he die? why didn't he run away? who killed him? is the person who killed him in heaven? why are there bad guys? will the bad guys come here? did it go into his leg? his tummy or what?
i'm finding it more exhausting than getting up at night to feed ben.

baseball season started awhile ago-but i can't talk about it now because i have more questions to answer about why abraham lincoln died.

ben

benson lallier lockwood was born one week ago-
he was 7lb. 13 oz and was 19inches long
he is a ferocious eater and one of the nurses said he was the strongest baby she had ever seen :) bobby is so proud-

i really can't wait to do make a slideshow of all the pictures that were taken of this past week. i had many helpers in taking pictures and video, but it has been a little crazy trying to find the time to edit and compile them. for now-here are a few...

and now he is a week old-and we continue to adjust to all the changes a baby brings-but basically life feels like it should-and we can't imagine our lives without him :)
